TCTCM, The Oldest Acupuncture School In Texas, Offers Dual Master's Degree Program With Chinese University

Having pioneered acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine education here in the States, TCTCM has recently gone global. This past quarter, China surpassed Japan as the world's second-largest economy, emerging as a world superpower. The Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine has concluded a dual-degree program agreement with Zhejiang Chinese Medical University (ZCMU), Hangzhou, China, PRC. Students attending Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCTCM) have an opportunity to earn two degrees; one here in the United States and one in China. Masters candidates enrolled in this program are required to attend courses and fulfill an internship in China.

TCTCM is the first Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AOM) College in the United States that will be able to offer its students this unique opportunity of granting a professional master's degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine as well as a master's degree in Acupuncture and Tui Na with Zhejiang Chinese Medical University. Upon graduation, the student will have the opportunity to practice acupuncture in China.

Following an extensive review of TCTCM's program of curriculum and program of study, the educational leadership of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University found it to be equivalent to the didactic and clinical portions of their own Masters-level program in acupuncture. As the first-ever dual degree program in acupuncture involving an American and a Chinese school, this agreement marks the first time that a major Chinese University has recognized the equivalency of an American institution's acupuncture and oriental medicine degree program.
